Ford Cutting Around 3,000 Jobs Most Of Which Are In The USA

Ford is one of laying off some 3,000 employees across the United States, Canada, and India. 

 Majority of the positions are white-collar salaried jobs located in the United States.

The move is important for the automaker's Ford+ rebuilding plan as it positions itself for development later on.

Ford sent a notice to around 31,000 workers Monday itemizing the cutbacks. In it, Executive Chair Bill Ford and CEO Jim Farley expressed that around 2,000 salaried workers and 1,000 office representatives will be given up.

According to a Ford spokesperson, a potential recession seemed like a motivation for those two brands, A Ford spokesperson directly said it was not for the blue oval brand. 

Ford also outlined that the cuts weren’t aimed at any one specific segment of the business but instead were based on a holistic look at the overall business plan.
